THC08 - Cornflower Blue-Clear Thermochromic

A colour change pigment in soft cornflower blue. Cold it sits a clear periwinkle blue; warm it past about 30°C, with body heat, warm water or a hairdryer, and it clears, then comes back as it cools. In practice it settles into a pale in-between state with a little of the blue left in it rather than going glass clear; that tint is bleed from the cold colour, not a second shade. It shows the change most clearly over a pale base, and it will go back and forth as many times as you like.

How to use

A loose raw thermochromic powder, ready to mix into your own projects. Mix into a clear base or nail polish and apply as usual. The colour changes with temperature and changes back again as many times as you like: warm it with body heat, warm water or a hairdryer and it lifts to its light state, cool it and the deep colour returns. It shows the change most clearly over a pale base. Store it out of direct sunlight, since prolonged UV shortens the life of any thermochromic.

This is a high quality raw pigment, not a finished cosmetic product. Avoid breathing in loose powder or flakes and work in a well-ventilated space. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Do not use on broken skin, and stop use if irritation occurs. If you are making products to sell, it is your responsibility to confirm this pigment is permitted for your intended use in your market.

Colours on screen are a guide only: the finish depends on your screen, your base colour, and the medium you mix into. Sold by weight, not volume - flakes and shimmers are feather-light, so even a small weight fills a surprising amount of jar. Store sealed, cool and dry, out of direct sunlight.
